Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE) conducted an investigation of the World Trade Center and the surrounding damaged buildings. At the request of The Masonry Society, David T. Biggs of Ryan-Biggs Associates participated on the investigation team. This report presents his personal observations of Ground Zero, the towers’ collapse, and the performance of masonry on the surrounding buildings. This book contains color photos and charts throughout.
